AARP recently re-launched its innovative online resource, the Livability Index: Great Neighborhoods for All Ages. AARP’s analysis of the Livability Index data showed Silver Spring among the top ten livable communities in the Small Communities category.

Shannon Guzman will be visiting with the Silver Spring Village to discuss the Livability Index to provide an overview and a demonstration of the tool. Ms. Guzman is a policy research senior analyst with the AARP Public Policy Institute, where she works primarily on livable communities issues. She conducts research and analysis to inform community members and assist local decision makers in their efforts to support residents who want to age in place. She has coauthored publications on community livability, housing, and transportation; analyzed national crash statistics; and assisted in the development of community assessments.
